Learning From My Gambling Failures
First to clarify the reason I wrote this essay. I have been wagering on the net or at land based casinos for many years. I have learned, the dependency can grab a hold of you and you will not even realize it up until you are flat broke. Particularly if you are on a winning run. I’ve gone through countless tens of thousands of dollars in a very tiny period of time and to this day on occasion, I will go too far. It seems you are just having a blast until you decide to track your losses and the anguish settles in, and then you continue to tell yourself "I can win it back" repeatedly. It does not works. Then you feel queasy in your gut and the harder you try the faster you are deprived.
When you see that you are up, remain on the UP! When you begin to lose, don’t say to yourself, "well perhaps one more" and over and over again, trust me, this logic hardly ever functions. Say you’re playing on slots, have a bankroll set to the side before beginning your action. DO NOT exceed that limit, no matter how appealing. If you happen to succeed, put that in a separate pot. Do not use your successes no matter what. As soon as you have gambled through your original set limit, call it a day. Head out, whether it’s on the internet or at a land based betting house, don’t stay around. Always remember, there will be another day, a different time.
Keep in mind, gambling is supposed to be FUN not backbreaking, sickening work! If you are not having fun yourself, you do not belong there. If youcannot afford the loss, do not even begin.
